Make your own robotic pet

If you’re wondering what a robo pet is, it’s short for robotic pet. You know, like those robotic dogs that were such a sensation when they were first introduced to the entertainment industry a decade ago by Sony.

Although those robo pets — Sony’s robo dog AIBO to be exact — had varied movements and can learn a trick or two with the embedded Artificial Intelligence (AI), they (and subsequent second- and third-generation AI robo pets) were really pricey and remained beyond the reach of the masses.

Fret not as you, too, can make your own robo pet (although it may lack the AI to carry out sophisticated moves).

“Start with a basic model, and with some guidance and interest, you can develop the model further,” said Kaki Robot Club (KRC) president Hezle Hezlan.
